Hyundai VS KIA EV CARS | 2022 IONIQ 5 & EV6.
Hyundai and Kia are both Hyundai Motor Korea-owned brands.
Kona and Kia Nero, the first electric cars produced by these two brands, have already been sold and distributed in the Nepali markets.
Importers of both these companies have been informed that Ioniq 5 and EV6 will launch here in Nepal auto-markets.
Of these two cars, Ioniq 5 will be available in Nepal by the end of 2021 and the EV6 by mid-2022.
Even though there are some differences in texture and features, the technical details of these two electric cars are the same.
Hyundai Motor Group has developed a new Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) for electric vehicles and launched the Ioniq 5 under the Hyundai brand and the EV6 under the Kia brand in the international market.
Despite using the same platform, Kia and Hyundai have developed their EVs from different design studios.
Kia is targeting young customers, while Hyundai aims to sell its EVs to mature customers.
Although the target customers are different, both the cars are excellent.

Main differences
Exterior Body & Design
Although built on the same platform, EV6 and Ionic 5 looks very different.
Ioniq 5 is one of Hyundai’s 45 concept cars of 2019. The edge styling given in it has made the Hyundai car look bold.
The EV6 is affected by the Supercar Fast GT variant. It has a scaled hood and dual rear spoiler to make it look sporty.
The significant dissimilarities between these two SUVs are seen in the wheelbase. The EV6 has 2900 mm, while the Ioniq 5 has a 3000 mm wheelbase.
Interior layout
Both cars have a completely different interior layout than the combustion engine.
As both cars are built on a new platform, it does not have a center hump, which allows for the most space in the cabin of both vehicles. Ionic 5 has a lounge-like cabin. It has an electronically adjustable seat.
The Ioniq has 56.5 mm, and the EV6 has 45 mm of space.
But, to get this space, you have to fold the second stop seat. The interiors of both EVs use recycled plastic and eco-friendly materials.
Both brands have a 12-inch infotainment system display. Both have digital clusters.
The EV6 is inspired by Audi, while the Ionic 5 is inspired by Apple Design. Due to this, both the cars will look sporty versus modern.
Battery & Performance
As both of these cars are based on the same platform, vehicles have a battery pack of 58 kWh.
Both have only one rear-wheel-drive motor. The Ioniq 5 also has the option of a 72.6 kWh single and dual motor setup.
The most potent combination of the Hyundai Ionic 5 EV emits 301 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque.
It will accelerate 100 kilometers per hour in 5.2 seconds; its top speed will be 118 kilometers per hour.
Similarly, Kia’s top-of-the-line Kia EV6 GT has 77.4 kWh battery power and an all-wheel-drive option.
It emits 576 hp of power and 730 Nm of torque like a supercar. The car can reach 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 260 kmph.
Safety feature
Both the cars have made safety a high priority. Both have Forward Collision and Blind Spot Assistant and Advanced Driver Assistant systems as standard features.
There is a grade 2 cm autonomous system for highway driving. With the help of which there will be advanced type cruise control.

- Kia EV6 Standard Version: 71.49 lakhs ( Long Range: 77.99 lakhs).
- Hyundai Ioniq 5: 79.99 lakhs.
